Sorry Guys and Gals, I've been away for a few days.

I've had a few replies and due the impending Crimbo it's been suggested that we meet mid January, any thoughts?

If you could post your replies here so I know who's interested in a little food and refreshment in a suitable location mid Jan I'll get on the case.

Cheers and Merry Christmas to you all.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer !!!! C'mon guys lets get this Nottingham thing rolling. We are blessed with being in one of the best places in the UK to socialise over some bevvies.

What a great opportunity to put faces to names and share info & ideas about the one thing we all know we want out of life.

surely it can't hurt that much to say yes ?

Could I suggest the West Side of Nottingham? i.e somewhere like Risley, Sandiacre, Long Eaton. Gives me a better chance of getting Mrs QNH to drive me home. (Gave up sleeping in gutters years ago.)

Any time/date/place is fine for me. Mid Jan sounds great.

How much do you reckon a taxi to Retford would cost? :)

Anyone read 02FO - what the hell are you doing on here then, you know its not allowed !

Schooner,

terribly sorry about Wednesday night - I went to the game half way through my works do and was completely trashed by half time - bit like the team. You can't account for an injury list like that but hopefully young David will turn things around again with a bit of financial help.

Anywhere in the city centre near Shimla Pinks' (Indian), or Trent Bridge (Italian), or Mansfield Road (Encounters). Let's go for it. Be nice to put faces to names.

(The students can get the first round in!) Cheers, guys, and merry Christmas! :)

Great response,

Looks like we got ourselves a convoy!!!

I'll post shortly after Christmas with a few ideas (I need to get a map of Nottingham out to try and keep everyone happy) and maybe try and match a few up with a carshare/taxi.

In the mean time keep posting, keep smiling and keep flying the right way up.

Seasons greetings to you all, have a safe one.

OK guys, as TBL is not allowed to look at the internet anymore (His IT dept. unsportingly decided it was about time he did some work for a change) I thought I'd post about the current state of affairs.

Saturday January 20th - Pitcher & Piano (sorry for those of you who wanted somewhere a bit further out but you know it makes sense to meet in town). This pub gets busy on a saturday night - so how are we going to recognise each other ? TBL reckons he's going to carry a balloon around with him with the Pprune logo on it - could be fun.

If we are eating at the P&P (I'll check if they do food on a saturday night) then we'll reserve a table and post on here whereabouts it is.

All who have posted on this thread asking if they can join in - of course you can - the more the merrier.

Cheers

Excuse my ignorance.....Piano and Pitcher is where exactly? (Old pub been re-named perhaps?)

Brian Clough
12th Jan 2001, 15:24
MM

Its difficult not to have noticed the Pitcher & Piano if you still live in the city.

By car, if you go round Broad Marsh and head in to town (up towards Hockley) you have a rather large church on your right hand side. To get to it simply turn right at Weekday Cross (at the Tapas bar) and you really can't miss it. Basically its the huge church in the Lace Market.

If you want to attend and still don't know where I'm on about e-mail me and I'll send you a map.

I will post directions and final numbers next week on here anyway.

Hope this helps

15th Jan 2001, 13:51
All,

I have compiled a list of e-mail addresses of attendees and I sent out a standard e-mail last week. Some replied mentioning bringing others and some did not. People are of course welcome to bring others with them but I will need to know as soon as possible. This is because I have booked the table and if more people are coming than I have booked for - some will be disappointed. Of course, you may wish to attend later and not eat, if so, look out for my post later and you'll know where to find us.

I have a total count and list of names which I will post on Wannabees later on (today hopefully)along with directions and times etc.

Great news on the club thing for those who are interested.

Cheers,

BC

Hey I'm back!!!
If only courtesy of the local Internet Cafe!

It looks like we are in for a full turnout - fantastic.

I've decided that I'm going to be sporting a couple of helium ballons with the PPRuNe logo on so that I'm easily spotable! Should be interesting.

In my opinion the more the merrier and if someone isnt a wannabe and they want to come, maybe we can convert someone!

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and putting faces to daft names - see you all on Saturday.

Keep replying to Brian Clough because my internet access at work is non-existant (Asking me to do some work is quite unreasonable if you ask me)

Mail Cloughie for my telephone numbers if i can giv anyone a lift.

I'm 50, started flying 5 years ago, done 450 hours, and just got the IR, hence poor. Still don't know if wives, girlfriends etc coming.
For: I don't have to stay sober, can be driven back.
Against: She might find out how much we spend on training. That could be VERY expensive.
Suggestions??

TBL - clear as a bell in WB, got along the ringroad just to run into a bank of fog (something to do with moist air over a lot colder surface and a light wind up to 7KT!)

Re-booked for Sunday, but then a skating rink because of snow and slush (you know, ICAO definition of heel/toe splatter - good for Air Law).

Cheers guys - and a Chapter web site would be useful.

If you want a hand building a site, go to www.army.mod.uk/rtmc/index.htm (http://www.army.mod.uk/rtmc/index.htm) - my build.
