Hi everyboy.

What are the requirements for the issue of a UK JAR-FCL licence based on a non UK national licence?

I hold a spanish ATPL(H)/IR(H), spanish ATPL(A) written exams passed and JAR Medical Certificate Class 1.

In Spain, FCL1 went into effect three years ago, but i don't know when FCL2 will come into force.

I can wait no more. I´d like to get a UK CPL(H) and i don't know how.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone know which JAA's countries have not FCL2 in force?

I've got two of them...Portugal and Spain.

Thank you.

You could try this for a start:

http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/licensing/fcl/document.asp?groupid=187

Other than that its best to call or email the caa for a definitive answer. Number is +44 1293 573700

The CAA have recently published their replacement to the old CAP53 and 54 called LASORS 2003. It is nowhere near as well written and clear as the old documents, but anyone who has any of these sort of questions would be well-advised to get hold of a copy. I think it costs £10, but unlike almost all other CAA pubs, you get it from the CAA PCL and NOT the normal source of CAA pubs.

The CAA has chosen to ignore or alter so much of the impact of JAR-FCL2, that it is not wise to look at that document and assume that it applies to the UK. The way that the JAA works (or doesn't work) I imagine that the other countries that have "joined" will have as many variations and differences.

I am still wondering why they ever bothered to generate these common JAA requirements, if they immediately all go off on their own with differences and variations.:(

Thank you Helinut for the information.

We have a big problem in Spain by FCL2.
Spanish CAA doesn't work at all (worst you can imagine).

We're waiting for the FCL2 rules for more than three years and I think we will wait for another three years more.

Aviation Authorities are completely bribed by spanish helicopter companies.

Some of us would like to work outside of Spain, on Europe, but without JAR licence is very difficult.

We are kidnapped.

For example, a spanish SAR pilot works 20 on/10 off. No vacations of course.
A Standar working day: 24 hours service. 6 hours at base, 18 with a beeper for a 30 minutes response time.

Only three pilots assigned to one helicopter (for the whole year). Crazy.

Paidment for a Captain: less than 3000€ per month (everything included)

Other day, I'll talk about EMS, firefighting...

Opinions are wellcome.
