Hi there,

I am training there for my ppl and have plans to go professional!

Very happy so far! Good instructors (I tried a few <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> ) Good aircraft/instructor availability and good atmosphere.

The weather is always a problem, although they claim that statisticaly its the place in the uk with the best weather....

I have found Stapleford to be one of the best flying clubs around.
It is always easy to find someone who is willing to take the time to talk, the club house is popular with the members and instructors.

Quite a few of the instructors are ATPL qualified and ultimately looking for airline jobs but most of them seem very happy with the club as a place to work in the meantime.

There is a great deal of experience there.
The facilities are always being improved.
(A new simulator is being set up now)
(There is accomodation for visiting CPL students)

There are very few moans about anything which is quite remarkable for the aviation industry.

Any aircraft that has a fault is immediately dealt with and back on line usualy within a day.

Of course as with anything it is what you make of it.
If you go to most places and say hello you are more likely to get a smile than if you are the silent moody type.

Hi
I went to both LGU and Stapleford and I was very impressed, they are very competitive on price and they have a high standard of tuition. I obtained first time passes on both CPL, IR. I would certainly recommend them.

Good luck

I did my PPL there last year. Good instructors & large fleet of a/c available. Very competetive rates.

Yeah I would agree with the rest, Stapleford is a good place to train - I did my PPL there in summer 2000!

If possible any prospective customer is encouraged to visit. No hard sell but they take the time to show you around, they sit you down and discuss your needs and then work out the best route with you, the facilities are excellent, the aircraft plentiful and modern, nice clubhouse & accomadation for those who require it. The new simulator is supposed to be arriving in March and by all accounts is a very impressive bit of kit! It also makes a nice change not to be pressured into large up-front payments. They are definately worth a call. Good luck.
