My wife sadly has to have a revision operation to her hip replacement after less than 6 years, due to progressive failure of the lining of the cup part of the joint. Lining made of 'hylamer' by 'de Puy'. Quite a few hip replacements affected this way.

I am interested to know if there are any others so affected. There is a patients' group which is looking at compensation.

Please reply by PM or email.

BTTT: Op last week. Figures indicate around 2000, possibly faulty, de Puy joints issued to hospitals in UK in 1996/7.
