As I may go to Borneo for a visit I wondered if it is possible to sfh a helo /f/w in Kuching, or if not ,anyone got any idea of general hire/tourist rates .I want to go and look around all my old "hunting-grounds" from the "undeclared war" era. I have a uk ATPL(H) andCPL(FW). Also cheapest/best value hotel rates.

There is a Flying Club in Kota Kinabalu with a Cessna 172. Contact Richard Ong on 019-8611396. If you are coming in from Kuching, I think they might have a light aircraft (a Malaysian Made Eagle) in their newly reborned Flying Club.Aircraft may or may not be there yet. Alternatively, if you want a helicopter, there are many B206 for hire. If you are from the era of the undeclared war, the helicopter is the way to go to places like Long Jawi etc. Otherwise I would suggest 4WD, canoes or Mountainbikes. The region had been my playground also years ago.
