As a civie driver flying over and through a few of the latest HOT spots, I am reminded, soberly, of the Bander-Abbas accidental shoot-down back in ('86??) of a civilian jet over the Gulf.
What are the latest briefings and procedures you guys that are on the hot-button end have to ensure we are not mistaken for some bandit? ("WE" referring to the civilians that are jetting above you, sometimes towards you at altitude, descending or climbing, but intending on landing elsewhere.)
We always ensure our WX radar is on so you at least get a big return we are using the right bandwave, and always a code, but....well, you know....it sometimes makes me think.
Thanks for the feed-back.
