Anyone know about these which took place with Cansos in the 50s? I've just met one of the navigators who unfortunately has a bit of Alzheimer's. They won a GAPAN trophy:

Sound like interesting trips.

Just looking through old postings and came across yours with no reply -
Look for a book called "Wings over Ice" by Peter Mott. It is a full account of the 2 seasons that Hunting spent surveying around the Antarctic Peninsula. Cansos, operating out of Deception Island, and a couple of helicopters (early Bell 47 and something else, can't remember).
Incidentally, most of the current maps of the Falklands are based on aerial survey done by Hunting on their way to or from that Antarctic operation.
Don't know if the book is still in print, but if not, probably available second hand on eBay or similar. It is a good read.

Here are two copies of the book available! Do you think Farsouth is still waiting after over two years?!
