It's name is VAZ-2110. Russian automotive 4-stroke inliner used in "Lada" cars. Pretty heavy but costs nothing and works stable enough.
Nick built this bird at VERY low budget - this is the reason for engine choice

From my experience with Lada engine and their reliability I think they should stay on ground....:p

My mum learned how to adjust her own timing chain on our Lada. It became so expensive to constantly run it down to the shop...she had no choice.
I take my hat off to these guys.
VERY brave. :)
