Excel Airways B738 G-XLAG currently AOG at CMF after an encounter with a vehicle used to tow ASUs.

Large gash to the underside of the nose - possible empty ferry back to base or may even need patching before it can move.

Will be expensive - pax very well handled by the crew (already on board when it happened) - nightmare for all involved...

This aircraft was sighted at Luton yesterday, presumably awaiting repair.

It was supposed to be operating CMF-BRS-CMF. The flight took about a six hour delay while they found a 767 from somewhere....

Thanks for the info
The crew didn't tell us about going to Luton.Will have to ask
them why we diverted from Stn where we have our maintenance
base.

Out of interest why would it be interesting at BRS?
And yes,we did go to LYS and not CMF.Bit difficult to stop
let alone take-off!!

Flown unpressurized from CMF to STN after pax offloaded. Patched (about 60cm x 40cm) overnight, ferried STN -> LGW on Sunday the 2nd.

Redfield,

BRS Interesting? I don't think so........ Nothing can make BRS interesting. Not even a 767, which by the way Britannia used to operate BRS-SFB-BRS Direct, without fuel stop sometimes, depending on the weather.

And trust me when I say there was nothing interesing about it!

AOG007: Would a Plus Comet A310 count as interesting at BRS?There was one the other day aparently....
