Title says it all really. Cause: snow.

Any other disruptions in the UK due to snow?

BBC1 Ceefax reports severe disruption in North Surrey.

Mentions Egham as being particularly badly hit. Looked out of my Egham window - not one flake of snow !!??

Hi
Was looking out the window this afternoon and I saw a Britannia 757 on final approach to rwy 32 at leeds Bradford. Its very windy here at the moment. No snow yet. Then about 10 mins later I saw it again on final approach. I am assuming a go around was done.....probably due to the wind??? or maybe an earlier flight did not depart the rwy in time.
Hope this is relevant by the way!

Most of the airports in the NE of the UK were snoclo this morning: INV, ABZ, WIK, LSI, KOI for sure, and probably a few others. I don't know if they're open yet.

Luton also closed around 15.20 in heavy snow showers and RVR's of only 400m.

Current estimate for opening is 17.15 .. but not holding my breath!!

Stay indoors it's damn cold out there. A few inches of snow and the country hits gridlok. In fact you could have flown to Cape Town in the time it took a friend of mine to travel 1 mile on the M11 last night!!!

Thought I would use the dreaded AIS site to get some Notam's, snowtam's for Gatwick and Stanstead to find out what was going on - for me & a collegue on sepreate EZY flights in the next 24 hours. Surprise surprise - no info from Stanstead at all.

The closure was originally short term for snow clearance, later on in the evening it became a bit longer term when an Eastern airways EMB135 went off the end after landing (no injuries, just hurt pride,) AIB investigating............

One off the end on landing? Sounds familiar, didn't this happen to a Brit World 1-11 in the 90's also?
