Just wondering if anyone from Nepal could shed some light on how stable the country is at present and what state the aviation industry is in?

What are the chances of operators looking for ex-pat pilots in the near future?

Thanks

With the gov't and maoist declaring ceased fire and trying to solve the problem through dialog, things are begining to look positive ( although very hard to say at this point).
DHC-6/300 's are being replaced with Do-228 by many operators, with "Sita Air" being the latest to start its domestic operations. Other operators such as Shangrila Air, Skyline, Gorkha and Cosmic have and are planning to bring out many Do-228.
If you have or are willing to get a Do-228 rating you may stand a chance. however, It would be wise to contact the operators before jumping in to get the rating.

best wishes,

himalaya.

Long range ops are planned to start once again...assessing types of aircraft now.
Expect action in four-six months, perhaps sooner.

would you mind giving the name of the outfit? far as i understand that place is dead for aviation.
