Has anyone done this under JAA.

I have the chance to get an FAA Twin rating and they assure me it can be converted to a CAA/JAA twin rating with a one hour conversion flight. Can anyone confirm this? Is it written down anywhere?

It sounds more fun than hour building on 152.It costs the same as a UK twin rating but you get more hours for your money.

Does anyone know why the FAA twin rating is 15 hours and ours is just 6 hours. Do you learn more on the American course?

You have to sit the full JAA Multi-Engine Class rating course, written examination and pass the skills test.

If you hold overseas multi ratings there is, however, no minimum number of hours in the course: amount of training you need for the course is at the discretion of the school.

Conversion will not be a big deal

7 hours isn't a lot in JAR I agree

Most people who hire out twins have difficulty with this as well

Try hiring one with 7 Hours PU/T !

The insurance company minimums set the
minimums often not the JAA

Its common sense

The FAA twin rating used to be 10 hours, or 6 if you already had a complex airplane endorsement. When did this change ?
