hi,

Am currently holding a private pilot license issued by italian authorities and want to go further...only problem is that in italy even though JAR rules have started since jan 1st 2001 nothing is officially homologated!!! so was wondering if i'd take the atpl ground school in uk if it would be valid in other"jar states" do to the practical part after coz even though i live in italy am a french citizen so it would be nice to know that the exams i took are worth in more than one country in europe...

sorry if there are any mistakes ,english not being my mothertongue...

You can take your Atpl ground school wherever you want among a JAA country but you have to pass the flying check in the same country. It is not valid to do the ground school in one country and the flying part in an other. Get in a good school wherever you want and obtain your CPL/IR/frozan ATPL under JAR and then you'll be qualified to fly in every country from the JAA. Anyway, call your local Aviation Authority Office and ask for it.
Good luck!
