Gulf of Mexico accident

Heard that there has been an accident in the Gulf of Mexico. Reports are that the aircraft is owned by Air Logistics and is a 206L model. Coastguard on scene, report is that aircraft contacted platform and caught fire.

Coast Guard crews New Orleans and Venice responded Thursday to the scene of a fatal helicopter crash on an oil rig in Breton Sound.

The Air Logistics helicopter went down at about 8:45 a.m. with four people aboard, crashing into the generator building of the rig about 20 miles northeast of Venice.

Three crewmembers have severe burns and the fourth was dead.
The names and condition of the injured are not yet known. The identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification of his family members.
