Anyone know anything about new blades and drivetrain for the good old Queen of the skies (S-61N) or where to find info about it?

Carson have an STC imminent for the composite blades they increase lift , reduce SFC and get stones out of horses hooves . They showed an S61 equipped with them at last HAI , must have flown in on an experimental ticket I guess . Not heard owt about G box upgrades though.

You should check out the new glass cockpit that VIH have done for Cougar on their S-61. Amazing difference and looks cool as well.

FBC - there no confusion on drive train mods that follow the Coastguard aircraft that caught fire rather dramatically over Poole Harbour last summer????

Someone at Portland deserves a serious attaboy for getting down that fast!!
Sikorsky have only just realised after 40+ years that if this type of failure occurs then there is nothing between the supposed firezone and the G Box to stop the inferno. Ooops. No FMEAs in those days eh Lu!
I heard there's an AD to fit some kind of warning system by next month, but I'm not sure how another fire wire can help. Ideas?
Apparently the cockpit warning its not a fire wire but a oil debris detector. Trying to find out more. Anyone know the details?
