Mike "Fingers" Plummer - PNG

Regret to advise all of you old PNG hands, that Mike "Fingers" Plummer passed away yesterday. Cause and circumstances, as yet unknown. I will post further when known.
Mike was one of the last links with the PNG Civil Service and was a very very longtime stalwart of the South Pacific Aero Club, and founding member of the "Moitaka Gliding Club".
He was a true blue Englishman, if somewhat eccentric.!!
He had an extensive vocabulary, and whilst being mild mannerred, he could have his moments. He will be missed.

I'm gutted. I've known Fingers since I arrived in the country in 1984. A stalwart of the SPAC and past president of same, he was also the government's computer guru and a ready wit that befitted that position and carried over into his social hours, of which many were spent at the SPAC, both old and new versions.

I'm not sure that his married life was all that it could have been but I got along well with Mardi - and Nick is just about the closest thing to a chip off the old man's block. My sympathies go to Mardi and Nick.

All of us have lost a good mate and a high caliber drinking partner.
