I am researching the whole Apache AH mk1 procurement programme with a view to putting a presentation together for a (British Army) course i am on. The Apache IPT website has facts, but, surprise, surprise, none of the projected ISD, cost etc compared to the actual figures. If anybody out there has any information i would be most grateful.
The main debating point is "Has the procurement of this equipment been handled well" and as it is a debate, i would be grateful for both plusses and minuses.
I am British Mil, if you require proof etc, for sensitive stuff etc., message me and i will happily provide this.
Heres hoping...

ps. I am also doing a presentation about L85A1/A2 procurement and in service upgrade, so if you have any info on that, same detail.

Cheers in advance

Not the whole answer to your question, but you could always try the National Audit Office report on the AH-64 if you've not looked already. This gives some of the key facts, and might be helpful?

http://www.nao.gov.uk/publications/nao_reports/01-02/01021246.pdf

If that doesn't work, just go to the NAO site and find the report on air manoeuvre capability (31 Oct 2001). Hope this is of some help.

Anything useful on http://www.mod.uk/dpa/projects/apache.htm ?

It might possibly help.

Why don't you just phone the DPA and ask to speak to the apache desk, make an appointment etc etc!

...perhaps members of the NUJ don't see phoning the project officer as a valid way of finding things out?
