Today's Toronto Gobe and Mail carries the obituary of Henry Botterell, died in Toronto on 3 January 2003 at 106 years of age. Ex RNAS, Western Front, World War I. Flew the Sopwith Camel. He was demobilised as disabled in 1917 after a crash and six months in hospital. He re-enlisted and returned as a fighter pilot to France in 1918. He was attached to 208 Squadron from May 11 to November 29, 1918. The Canadian War Museum has the fence-post he brought back in the wing of his Camel after one low-level flight over Belgium.

I would have dearly loved to have made his acquaintance. Watched the brief interview with him, at the museum, on the National last night.
RIP Sir.
