Ive asked Oxford and Transair about these notes anumber of times.

Transair were very helpful but advised that 'we just sell them. Ask Oxford'.

Oxford have never bothered to reply to any of my...mmm...must be 6 or 7 e-mails over the weeks...guess I didnt mention the £50 grand I have in my back pocket...I WISH ! ! !

These books at £600 at first 'seem' like a reasonably cheap way of doing the distance learning. However who's going to stamp up your CAA application form to sit the exams ?

Well it would seem Oxford wont - unless anyone wants to correct me. In which case I'll order a set tomorrow !

So the notes would appear to be just an aid to other studies ( maybe to poor notes provided by another school ).

It would seem that you would best put your £600 towards the cost of a full course at the likes of Bristol...approx £2000.

clear prop!!!

I don't think for one second that anyone would buy a complete set of OATS notes from jeppesen!

What they are there for is to give additional reading material and a different perspective on subjects you are weak on.

You just can't read enough, especialy on subjects you only have a couple of more chances at!!!...just think of the cost of a full 14 subject re-sit if you fail on just one subject on the last attempt! http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/hanged.gif

Well Chaps, I just got my module 2 books direct from Jeppesen Germany and I can tell you that the inside seems cleary to be the good old Oxford stuff that make you pass the exams anyway ! I've fired some bullets too at OATS in the past, especially when they failed to deliver my Phase 1 books but this time I must say the books look nicer and got delivered quickly! Do the German know how to stick stamps on a box as opposed to people in Kiddlington ?? :D
Anyway the debate is not here. I'm sure OATS got a nice deal with Jepessen so they could cut on costs with the printing of the books, and that's fair. At the end of the day the material is similar, So good luck to those who like me are on a distance learning with OATS and see you soon at the Brush-up !! ;)
