According to information received, a UK PPL
holder with IMC rating will get 12 hour credit from JAR IR. Before June 2002.

If I complete my CPL module first this credit is not availalbe to the CPL (R).

Does this mean that once completed 12 hour credit is lost?????? I will still have a UKPPL.

Can anyone shed any light on this????

I have had two different answers from two well known schools.

Career change,

Unfortunately you have to already have a CAA BCPL or CPL to get the 12 hours credit. The door to those closed last year when they were replaced by the JAR CPL, which does not let you have the 12 hour credit for the IMC. You do, however get a 5 hour credit off the IR course for holding a CPL!

I understadn that the CAA was trying to convince the JAA into letting IMC holders have a bigger credit due to having 15+ hours instrument training and most likely IFR P1 time already, but the JAA said no.

cheers!

Good luck pal. Sounds like more phone calls to your best mates at Gatwick.

Maybe, another 2 hours at the public counter followed by a chat with you know who may get the questions answered.

I may join you next time. I still have a few queries o/s, but feel too drained to seek replies.
