Has anyone had any success with this over longer distances? My brother and I have been trying to set one up but with limited success. He can get it to work woth one of his mates who lives locally but not with me who lives a couple of hundred miles away.
What sort of connection speed is required realistically?

Hi there. I used to use mine all the time on a 56k modem.(Broadband now) My brother lives up in liverpool, roughly about 240 miles away and we had no problems at all. Also used to chat with my mate in Oz but his connection was a bit iffy so we gave that up.

If you have a slow connection and/or a slow pc this may well affect how good the quality is. To be honest, I am not sure if the distance thing will be a problem. I used to chat quite a lot with a load of americans back in the good old days of Netmeeting and there wasn't that much of a delay.

Go for a quick pc and broadband, you should be ok chatting to anyone anywhere.

If you want to test yours drop us an e-mail and see if we can get a connection going using MSN or something. I am down in Brighton.
