I'm travelling to grand cayman soon and need to get from the port in georgetown to the airport to collect a hire car. Can anyone tell me how far it is and whats the best way of getting between the two. Ta.

Its only about 4 miles.
The quickest way is a taxi, about $10!
I would call the rental agency see if they will pick you up.
Also, maybe they have an outlet in town.
If you are coming in on a day when there are lots of cruise ships in the harbour, which is most of the time, walking for 10 minutes towards the airport will save you half the cost of a Taxi, because of congestion in the core of George Town.
You might also catch a Mini-Bus service about $2, you recognise them by the blue licence plate, just tell them you want to be dropped at the nearest point to the airport. Depending whom you rent the car from it would then be a 2 - 5 minute walk.
