Angola as a tempory base??

My company is about to send me down to Angola for a couple of weeks, tempory basing.
I believe we will be operating to/from Europe, and I'm thinking about suggesting heavy crewing, so we don't have to stay there!

What is the situation there these days, I remember it as being not so good, probably worse than Lagos!

I've considered refusing to go!

I was there last Feb/Mar. I have nothing good to say about the place except Miami Beach is an all right place to go and get DRUNK !! if you want to escape the reality of just where your at. It's a Hell Hole otherwise. Good Luck!!

I was in Luanda last week and the place is getting cleaned up a bit since the end of the civil war. I even caught a metered taxi to and from a restaurant. The Hotel Tropico was a nice place to stay although a tad expensive at $160 per night.

For just a couple of weeks, should be no problem being in Angola. MUCH better than Lagos.
