Black-empowered InterLink Airlines, a new Proudly South African carrier, has launched its first scheduled passenger service.

It's an exciting upmarket service aimed "exclusively at business and discerning travellers commuting between Johannesburg and Cape Town".

Operating a 72-seater DC9 aircraft out of its Johannesburg International Airport base to Cape Town International Airport, InterLink Airlines has introduced a scheduled service with daily return flights, envisaged to increase to double-daily flights by next month.

This follows the arrival of the airline's second DC9 aircraft.

The entire aircraft comprises only business class, complete with leather seats and five-star in-flight service, making this the first product of its kind offered out of Johannesburg's International Airport.

The inbound flight from Cape Town will reach Johannesburg at 7.45am, allowing travellers a full day's business in Johannesburg prior to leaving for Cape Town at 7pm.

Tickets cost R1 869 return (an opening special). The normal return fare will be R1 999 for the first 20 seats sold per flight. Thereafter all remaining seats will sell at R2 999 each. All fares exclude security and passenger taxes.
