Hello!
Can anybody give me information about the
lifestyle during summer(sport possibility like running and so on)?
Is there any waiting list for kindergarten and school for kids?
Thank you!

It's as hot as you can imagine. Too hot for running anyway!

Late night games of Monopoly curled up in front of the air-conditioner.

Vector 767,
Indoor sports is the only way to go, if you haven't been to this part of the world in the summer, then you are going to be in for a surprise. Being outside during the day is like being in a sauna and at night, a steam room...Bahrain lad is right, evenings curled up in front of the Aircon is the way forward. But not to worry, after a summer or two, you get used to it.
Sorry no kids, therefore can't answer your last question.
Enjoy!

There are only three things wrong with Dubai...

June, July and August!

V767,
It is hot like the hell! Outside temperatures can get as high as 52C and the humidity is very high. Even at night it sometimes stays up in the high 30s with high humidity.
So, all the lifestyle is indoors with air conditioning. If you want to swim, you need to join a club with a chilled pool, or go to a hotel beach club, which will definitely have a cooled pool. You can run on running machines in the health and fitness clubs. There is also ten pin bowling and ice hockey available.
If your family is with you they will not want to spend time outside shopping, but there are plenty of air conditioned shopping malls and supermarkets, so getting the weekly food shopping or strolling around the designer shops is no problem. Many of the malls have good amusement parks for children too.
So, although the heat and humidity are very high you can still have a good lifestyle indoors.

Ref the kindergarten and schools:
Kindergarten/nursery does'nt seem to be a problem at the moment. There's a reasonable choice spread around the city. Be aware that EK do not pay fees for nursery/kindy until the school year after the child turns 4 (I think!).
Schools can a different situation entirely. It depends on your choice of school, the curriculum you want (US/UK etc) and your passport. Some schools give preference to certain passports, usually tied to the curriculum they teach. Debentures also feature.
With the rapid expansion continuing, it could present some problems.

All Golf Courses in Dubai offer MUCHO discount, upto 70% off in the months of June, July, Aug & Sept if you are willing to test yourself against the elements of 40c !

It may be hot but at least it gives you the chance to play some of the championship courses out here for peanuts compared to the $120-$150 they will charge you now in Winter for a round at our newest course, The Montgomery.

Cheers 3 Off The Tee

This club is almost exclusively active during the summer months. Although some unlucky fellows have and WILL end up permanent members if/when the wife refuses to come back! Couple of my mates have left Dubai due to this..
