US v's UK

Looking at two integrated courses form zero to ATPL.
One course spends the majority of the flying in the US (PPL, Hour build, CPL, 70% of IR).
Does it make a difference spending this much time gaining practical flying experience in the US as opposed to doing the entire CPL/IR part in the UK.

Because of fuel prices, it's probably cheaper to fly in the US. Thing is that some people (read. airlines) in Europe don't care much for American flown hours (for a reason that's totally beyond me).

It's a lot of fun, flying in the US (you get some life experience as well, in addition to your flying).
