Flip Flop Flyer

According to local news, Belgian airline VG Airlines (Delsey) will close shop wednesday 30th. Rumours has it that their average loadfactor has been as low as 25% and that the BRU-JFK A330-200 flight they operated on 11SEP02 had 5 (five) passengers onboard
VG Airlines was the only non-US carrier offering flights to the US from BRU. But following the demise of Sabena travellers increasingly departed for the US via CDG or AMS. After all, CDG is but a short 1:25 train ride from downtown Brussels. VG Airlines was also not part of any alliance and did not have a frequent flyver program. Travellers who have a say in the choice of airline, will to a large extent stay loyal to a frequent flyer program, and it would seem that travellers from BRU chose not to fly VG for that reason.
Their cargo business was also very sluggish; rates too optimistic and in a flat market the buyers of bellyspace simply chose another airline.
