Hi all,

Just wondering does anyone know anything about the Aer Lingus cadetship this year, it looks more and likely that it won't be going ahead until next March, is this definite?

Is Aer Lingus the only airline in Ireland that offers a cadetship system?

Finally what airlines in the UK offer such a program and at what time of year can you apply?

Thanks,
Best wishes,
Turbsy

Heard rumours that Aer Lingus may be offering a few cadet sponsorship places in July of this year, but they are only rumours at this stage.
British Airways have an ongoing sponsorship scheme in operation. You can apply either on-line or ring them direct. You can get their details on www.britishairwaysjobs.com (http://www.britishairwaysjobs.com)
As regards the other airlines keep a look out in magazines such as Flight International, Pilot etc.

Hope it helps

EI have 70-ish cadets in various stages of training at the moment, and as such are kind of over-staffed. While there are retirements of senior crew on the horizion there's a lot of surplus crew there too, with the end of the F50 fleet.

In fact from what I've heard not all of the current crop of cadets will get jobs...

This, along with on-going disputes regarding pay, and the ever-looming spectre/golden opportunity (delete as applicable) of privatisation means that the CEP will probably take a back seat for the time being.
