Can anybody enlighten us about the current controversy going on right now with Air Nigeria and its UK based partners.

Has the whole deal been called of yet or what.

The papars in Nigeria never get it right when it comes to Aviation issues here, so a bit of information from any one on pprune with some proper info would help a lot.

Some of us are concerned about the future of Airways :(

I am being told that Obasanjo has pulled that particular deal and WT going to yet another 'enquiry panel'

Not sure about the other issues you mention but I did find this tidbit about Air Nigeria at justplanes.com

The proposed new airline with plans to operate domestic and international service is currently in Singapore to negotiate the lease of several aircraft : Boeing 747-400, Airbus A310-300 and Boeing 737-400.

Singapore part of the deal all over. Seems to be going nowhere now.
