I think we ALL now know the QF interview process (has been done to death on these forums), so how does it compare to other major airlines ?
Did AN used to go thru all the same cr@p that QF do ? ie Psych and skills, 742 sim, interview medical then not call you for 3 months ?
Are Air New Zealand, cut from the same mould ?
We all know that DJ is just an informal chat, and that to get into NJS, someone has to die, and leave you a job in their will.
I notice that there is an Air PAcific thread... does anyone know what THEY ask/require form prospective candidates?

And what of the others ? SQ, CX, Garuda?, Malaysian, Thai, BA, UA, PX, Air Canada, Lauda, Continental. Vietnam, AIr China ? etc etc

Also.... what would requirements are needed for these airlines? ie we all know that to work for a US carrier, you need a green card, what of the asian ones ?

I have a couple of mates in Air Pac. Those dudes too have to do the Qantas stage one testing, not sure how it gets processed though, followed by an interview and medical. It seems to be the way of the future these days. Requirements for Air Pac are ATPL's and 1000hrs. You have to be a Fiji citizen to apply. Alot of the guys there get in with the bare minima.

I remember Ansett used to do group type assessments, I think Cathay does the same too during the second interview. Correct me if im wrong. My information is only partial. Hope this helps!

Whogivesa

The days of rocking up to an airline interview in your new suit with your log books and doing nothing else are just about over. Psych and sim rides etc (cr@p as you call it) are the all part of the interview with major airlines. Yes CX and BA have similar tests. Air China, Air Vietnam, Malasia, Garuda, Thai ...........who knows?
