Hi Folks,
Just thought I'd share with you a great prog that really does tweak your internet connection. I'm on 128/512k ADSL and after a bit of fiddling, I achieved about a 30% increase in download speed. It's here (http://www.hms.com/ispeed.asp).
Before I got ADSL I was on 56k dialup and achieved some more modest (percentage-wise) improvements. The major benefit was in changing the settings from those suitable for dialup to those for ADSL. There is no process within Win98SE for that other than manually editing the registry. This program alters the registry for you and for those technically minded has a good treatment in the on-line help of what the settings are all about.
Shareware, not expensive and worth a look, IMHO.
