Air Universal, High Altitude, Orient Thai...just might try with L10's, but not sure if they will be accepted....OTOH, some of their machines might be parked.

Doing my best to try to avoid it this year if possible.

Hewa Bora, a new pax airline out of FIH (Kinshasa), Congo (formerly Zaire) is operating a number of ex DL -500 and -200 TriStars under the 9Q- register. Conceivably soon to be a Hadj participant.

Loads of our crew are going out next week to train for it.

What type of training is required for the Hadj and where are they going out to?

You also appear to be under the impression that EAAC are capable of doing the complete Hajj movement on their own!!! :):) I think that you might find that the Hajj is a little bit bigger than you think!

From the UK Britannia, MyTravel & poss JMC, although I don't think JMC had the best of tech luck with the A330 last year.

JMC are sending one A330 out for the Hadj.

Hi, 'Big Tudor',
Hope Britannia are not going to be flying those same, very slow B767's again this year, across from SE Asia.
And, hell's bell's, a slow A330 as well, now, it sounds almost as bad as all those slow A320s & B737s all around Europe!
With these type aircraft all around, it feels like the walls are slowly closing in!
see ya!

Mate, we need a big bull-bar on the front of the 747, just to shove them out of the way! :)

Will the requirement for the Hadjj be less now, considering the recent events in Bali? Will local carriers have more capacity do you think?

I'm interested in doing it again only for the $$$ money$$$ however I'm also a wee bit concerned about how secure its going to be this year with all the crap going on in the mid east and elswhere. Does anyone know if Orient Thai is doing it this year with the L-1011's??. I'd appreciate hearing from you. Tanx. :D

UK Carriers won't get insurance with the current travel advice

I heard that Orient Thai is indeed bidding, as usual, for part of the India Hajj need. How many Tristars? Dunno.

EAAC are looking to use three 74's and Britannia are looking at using seven 76's, not sure about anybody else though.

I'm pretty sure about who EAAC are going operating for, but which "Hajj" are they doing? Asia, Sub Cont or Africa?

Brits will be sending 6/7 767s & MyTravel 3 x 767s to complete the Indonesian Hajj. I understand Air Atlanta had a few (4?) 747s based in Jakarta. Garuda only operated 1 A330 on the Hajj last year despite having a number of aircraft available due to cancelled services in the aftermath of Sept 11. Not sure what'll happen in the light of recent Foreign Office advice - a lot can happen between now and New Year.

As for JMC going, I heard they pulled out after the Bali attack.

Thanks for that, I believe that EAAC are operating for SVA, so the sub cont made sense!

Which poor soul from EAAC is going to have the pleasure of relocating to SVA's operations department for the Hajj period?? :)
