This may be one starting place:
Air Safe . Com (http://www.airsafe.com/)

These folks deal with support to victims, so may be expected to have an interest in fixing things but I do not know this site.
Plane Safe (http://www.planesafe.org/)

The best starting point is: The Aviation Safety Network (http://aviation-safety.net/index.shtml)

then the Masters of Accident Investigation (though they've committed a couple of horrors lately) the National Transportation Safety Board (http://www.ntsb.gov/)

Those should keep you busy for a day or two...

You're not a journo doing a "Shock! Horror!" Aviation Story by any chance?

The NTSB has just this week expanded its web-site data-base to include all data back to 1962.

Although the reports are not as detailed as today, there is a significant amount of data that was previously inaccessible without requesting it directly from the NTSB.

There are a number of other sites (Google it) with extensive reports, including entire CAB reports from major accidents from way back.

Best site to start getting info on the topic is just two clicks below this forum and it's called Safety, CRM and QA.
Moderators have gone to great length to compile already comprehensive info on relevant web sites.
Couldn't be easier. ;)
