Good luck to the Lions, about time that small country had a sporting win, it has been a long time between drinks for you lot.

Pity that the Aussies have to resort to violence when they realise they can`t beat the Lions fair and square http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif
Shame their going to whip us at cricket though http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

cheers

Talking to a couple of kiwi's recently and they're worried about the state of the game over in NZ http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif
Going back to the British Lions, they haven't even played a decent squad yet http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

I shall return to this forum after Saturday night and see what you Lions supporters have to say for yourselves then!

Joking aside, it should be a rip snorter of a game (four countries versus one and all that!)

Could.nt help bu add my tuppence to this debate.

#Of course the lions are beating all the sides they have played so far (except Australia A I believe). All the sides they ahve played get their experience from playing kangaroos and wallabies in the desert fighting for food!!

I will hold my breath until they play the full; Aussie XV - then it will be more of a match me thinks.

As for the cricket http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif what a shambles our one day side is in. I think we are going to have to start calling it 'doing an england' when sides collapse.

Someone did suggest to me we are doing it deliberately so that when we play them in the ashes they'll be way too overconfident!!!

Hopefully when we are back to full strength we'll show them a thing or two in the ashes. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

To all my antipodean cousins out there - why does Australian strength in a sport always seem to come with arrogance - 'Drink and Drugs Warne', 'Lleyton I'm not old enough to shave Hewitt'!! ;)

Cricketer,
i wouldn't put Hewitt and Warne together just yet. Warne gets up to most of his mischief off the field and is rightfully lambasted for the same.
Hewitt acts a tosser on the court but also shows great ability there. (despite his age)
Hewitt also comes across very eloquently off the court although i have heard from a few people in the Adelaide tennis crew who definitely don't have nice things to say about him.

never treated me bad, must be a good bloke.

Warney, well you'd claim him if he was on your team too.

Wallabies 32, Lions 12
aussies 4-0 cricket
hewitt and rafter close but no cigar.

what about Henman this year? has he had his day?

Girt, where are the NZers?

You might be right about the Warne thing but some of the aussie son the field in cricket are a bit too aggressive for my liking and Steve Waugh's comment after the last test that 'they could do better', that's after they whipped us. Is that not an underhand comment for saying we were beaten by a side at 80%!!!!

My other least favourite Aussie -(now Yugoslavian) - Yelena Kovic (or dovic) the tennis starlet. Outrageous behaviour.

However my favourite would have to be Merv Hughes - what a character. Always a pleasure to watch even when he was whipping us just cos of his character ;)

Favourite Brit - have to be Darren Gough - cheeky, chirpy, unflaggable and a darned good bloke!
