Is it true that Qantas are hiring second officers with a minimum of 500hrs?

Well Britannia is hiring SOs with a minimum of 200 TT, so that might indeed B true (Cathay asks for 1000TT though).

Yes, QF does employ with a minimum of 500 command hours. The lowest I have heard has been 600 hours. ATPL subjects and an instrument rating are required too.
