I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me.
What are the cost involved are in running a 8 - 12 seater aircraft, so either heavy piston or turbine. Ive had a few thoughts but i was wondering what i was missing.
Firstly theres the aircraft itself. Either you can lease it, or buy it. Assuming you arent a rich, then some sort of morgage type arrangement would be in order.
The only other costs i could thing of were, in no order,
-maintenance
-fuel
-oli
-insurance
-salaries of pilots/operations
-landing fees, parking or hangarage
-euro charges(incidently, how are they worked out? As far as i know, you pay them if your IFR and more that 2000kg in weight)
-paperwork, ie aerads/jeppesans, aips etc
-the AOC, once you have this, do you have to pay to keep it?
-putting money away to pay for engine overhauls or replacements, if its a piston.
What else am i missing?
Would i be right in saying, after calculating all of this for a year, you divide it by the number of hours you expect to fly, and thats your cost per hour?
