Any truth in the news that those nice chaps down on the south coast will soon be migrating to West Africa for the winter sunshine?

Could be. There's a report on Air Transport Intelligence which says that EAAC is leasing 747s to Afrinat in W Africa.

I hear that the Citizens of Wibble are about to experience the joys of Lagos ... make sure you have good people on the ground to pick up on the fake visas, passports, drug smugglers etc as well as disregarding all the hardluck stories about their excess baggage and why they shouldn't have to pay for it!!

Hi all,
just returned from several months based in Lagos (the centre of excellence - as they call it!).
Don't look forward to it, in any way!

You will have to work hard, just to try and maintain your work standards, because everyone/everything is trying to shortcut, and cheap is the way it's done.

I don't want to get to specific here, but there are some stories that are quite outside most crews' definition of normal operations. We had to negotiate/argue/threaten, just to maintain normal, safe operations.
Quite an experience, really, and SO GLAD to be back to normal!!

Cheers
