Read in a monthly logistics mag that Emirates Sky Cargo would begin a non-stop cargo run from Dubai to Osaka "utilizing a Boeing 777-200 with a capacity of between 12 and 15 metric tons in each direction."

I've never heard of a 777 cargo conversion, anyone else heard of it? If true, how efficient would a 772 be compared to a 76 or a 74? Can anyone take a stab at the numbers?

looking at the capacity would tell you that this is using the belly of the standard pax a/c

Jesus ... I musta popped a brain cell on that one. I seem to remember that 747 classic totes about a quarter million US pounds. Maybe it was that "metric tons" part that got me? :D

For what its worth, hear EK is pushing Boeing to develop a 777F, no doubt the -300. Could be a very interesting aircraft.
