It seems as thought the aviation industry in the UK is slowly coming around. I was visiting last year and there was lots of gloomy faces. Sponsorships starting to appear and jobs are starting to be posted. Thoughts from the old boys all the way down to you greenbacks would be great.

Things on this side of the pond are still pretty rough, especially for our comrades in the US.

Cheers:confused:

There seem to be glimmers of hope here and there, but every glimmer seems to be matched with a bit more bad news. Maybe that means that we're turning the corner right at this very time?

Certainly the promise of war in the Gulf is weighing heavily in everyone's minds at the moment - it's looking more and more likely and will no doubt severly prolong the recovery.

It's the start of the traditional airline hiring season now, so by early in the new year we'll know if things are improving. It will only take one of the bigger airlines to start a largescale recruitment drive, and many of the others should follow in a bit of a frenzy to pick up any remaining rated guys who are seen as low training risk.

Then hopefully things will get back on track for us at the bottom of the food chain.

cheers!
