Hi all,

I'm considering getting a pay usenet account from Claranews and wonder if anyone uses them, and has any thoughts on speed and service?

I'm on 512k broadband if that's any use :)

Cheers :D

There is a wealth of free news servers on this site:

Free News Server Info (http://www.free2seek.com/free/newserver.shtml)

Some of them don't allow posting, some do.

Best!

I have used them and they're not bad at all, but their retention on some of the binary groups is pretty limited. Cheaper than easynews and giganews tho.

Here's the cheapest I've come up with, their retention is better than clara too:

usenetserver.com

If you're using grabbit, you'll be interested to know that clara allow 3 simultaneous connections and usenetserver 6!

Hope this helps.
