View Full Version : Eurofly - Italian Charter/Alitalia - Any info?

Questions for my Italian friends out there related to Eurofly - the Alitalia subsidiary:


1. What aircraft types does it operate - I have seen Eurofly 767s, A320s and a picture of a new A330. I also thought Eurofly was previously a corporate jet charter operator... Is that still the case - what corporate jets do they fly and out of what base?

2. When did they hire pilots last - what aircraft would they start on? and where do most of their pilots come from - military?

3. Conditions for pilots - good, bad or ugly - would you fly for Eurofly (if economic conditions were better)?

1) 1 or 2 MD 83 (phasing out), 3 B 767 (dry leased from parent company Alitalia and on their way back to Alitalia), 5 A 320, 2 A 330-200 on order (actually the 1st one arrived yesterday!).

2) Don’t know when the last ones were hired but I know some of the latest are from Air Dolomiti (ATR 42), Air One (B737), Alpi Eagles (F 100) etc., there are also few retired Alitalia Cpt, military experience shouldn’t be a factor, I believe they start as A 320 FO (…no more direct entry Cpt).

3) Good compared to the majority of Italian operators (apart from Alitalia and Meridiana of course!) but Aliatlia, which owns 100% of Eurofly, will most likely sell the Company to “Volare Group”…

Eurofly: consegnato nuovo Airbus A330

Radiocor Milano, 23 set - Airbus ha consegnato a
Eurofly, vettore charter di Alitalia, un nuovo A330-200. Il
velivolo, il settimo della flotta Eurofly e' configurato in
due classi (business ed economica) e dispone di schermi
video per ciascuno dei suoi 280 posti totali. L'A330 ha un
costo di listino di 120 mila dollari. Nel 2001 Eurofly ha
fatturato 180 milioni di euro con oltre 1 milione di
passeggeri trasportati.

Eurofly: Angioletti(*), offerta Volare per ora la migliore

Radiocor Milano, 23 set - "Ho avuto il mandato dal Cda
di Alitalia per valorizzare Eurofly, sia in termini
finanziari che industriali". Cosi' Augusto Angioletti, a.d.
del vettore charter della compagnia di bandiera, il quale ha
ammesso che "al momento l'offerta di acquisto di Volare
risulta essere la migliore" ma, ha aggiunto, "e' sempre
possibile che si possa modificare questo percorso in quanto
stiamo studiando ancora tutte le ipotesi".

(*)Augusto Angioletti: former Alitalia Cpt. and former President of ANPAC (the oldest and most influential pilot union in Italy) and presently Eurofly Managing Director (interesting career uh?)
