If you wanted just a CPL(A) licence with no intention of moving onto an airline (just flight instruction for example) do the JAA have exams for the CPL or is the theory always going to be ATPL? I haven't seen any flight schools offering a CPL licence with CPL theory, it always seems to be CPL licence with ATPL theory to pass.

Am I being dumb?

I was told that there is so little diff btw the subjects you might aswell do the ATPL. Also CAA havn't decided on the syllabus.

Dont know if you know but instructing does not pay very well !!!

Yeh, I realise that instructing is not well paid and I wasn't considering making a full time career out of it. I was just running scenarios through my head, boring day at work :-)

Thanks,

Simon

4 Forces were offering the new JAA CPL(A) theory by correspondence, but it was £2500 which is £600 more than ATPLs.

The CPL Syllabus is published in JAR-FCL where it has been for the past 4 years. The CAA have CPL exams ready and waiting.
