If I am a US citizen and I fly a plane that I own into Australia that is registered in the United States is there any limitation as to how long I can continue to fly it in Australia.

in private ops - as long as you like.

in regulated domestic ops - as long as you have an AOC or 27A permission authorising it.

Thank you very much for your responses and advice. This an exceptional forum which is obviously frequented by people with significant knowledge.

The aviation industry is full of headstrong people (it comes with the turf) with strong and disparate views...but I would like to think that the elements that bind us are greater than the elements that divide us. God bless you all.

You may just need a little forward planning for your 'annual'.

I assume your aircraft is under 12,500 Lb.

Most capital cities in Australia have have at least one FAA/AMP approved shop for under 12,500 Lb.

Good Luck and enjoy your flying here.
