AW139 unfamiliar with parking area gets rotor strike on lamp post while being marshalled [edit: wasn’t being marshalled]- link (https://www.gov.uk/aaib-reports/aaib-investigation-to-aw139-5n-box?cachebust=1715245799)

Pilot of R66 setting up cockpit prior to walkround, foot gets caught in the pedals and he falls sideways out of the open door. He later expressed gratitude that there is no high-skids option on that aircraft. (No link for that one, it was me.)

This is an interesting one! That aircraft was on the Shell contract in Nigeria until 2019, hence the registration, and was/is owned by NHV and operated by Caverton. I see elsewhere online that, although this crew were unfamiliar with Norwich, it has been there since at least June last year (and this accident happened in November 2023) and also that it was re-registered as G-NHVX in Feb 2024. I'm curious if it was a Nigerian crew, or UK crew with Nigerian validations. 2,600 hours total time is also low for an O&G captain.

If you read it, they weren't being marshalled at the time. Marshalling was introduced as a result of this according to the report
