Light aircraft crash at Monkton, Prestwick

The BBC are reporting that the two occupants of the aircraft airlifted to hospital

Prestwick based PA-28 on a local flight judging by the trace..

Just looking at the track, seems to have been holding north of the airfield while a BA A320 on circuits completed a touch and go - the BA subsequently orbited several times in vicinity of the accident site.

Looking at the tracking data the BA A320 that was crew training briefly came away from circuits to orbit the accident site as mentioned above, which can be seen here:

Presumably to help emergency services locate the aircraft in the immediate aftermath? Either way, it's nice to see the BA crew try and help in whatever capacity they can. Hoping for a good outcome for the people who were on board the PA-28.

PA28 G-BVNS. Both pilot and passenger being held at the QE in Glasgow and both were 'serious but stable' based on recent reports.

Speeds looked good I thought, I'm thinking maybe forced landing after loss of power. Whatever, I've heard the guys are reasonably OK in Glasgae hospital all things considered - which is the important outcome.
