I'm approaching my final year in Aerospace Engineering (University Level). I've had some ideas for the final year project, some are farfetched and some are not very innovative. I need to find the perfect middle to this so I can pursue it for a proposal. Any ideas welcome and most appreciated! (I'm new here for a heads up)

Do tell! What are your ideas? If you want open debate you have to give a little info.

Come up with a really decent snare drum sound sample for my electronic drum kit. In fact, come up with a really good whole kit to download.

You do know there’s web sites in India which offer PhD level academic projects to lazy undergraduate students for a fee. And for a bit extra, they will tailor them to suit your exact course requirement.

Just sayin’

Yep, and I’m told, those web sites come back to bite,
when fraud is the last thing a PhD needs on the resume. Buyer beware.

Only tone deaf losers play the drums. Real talented winners play the guitar.🎸

In response to Captn Rex Havoc (the 4 chord guitarist)

Rex - quotes from Jimmi Hendrix's biography
This amp goes to 11.
What's the difference between a guitarist and a vacuum cleaner - when the vacuum is unplugged it doesn't suck any more.
What's the difference between a guitarist and a large pizza - a large pizza can feed a family of four.
What's the difference between a guitarist and a government bond - a bond will eventually mature and make money.

Quotes from legendary drummer Neal Peart's biography
I had to call roadside assist when we locked the keys in the van - the guitarist was stuck inside.
Peart to a journalist - our guitarist drowned in a lake. Journalist - you were there, did you throw him anything? Peart - yeah....his amp.

OK - this has nothing to do with aviation and it is thread drift - but it beats reading Virgin threads!

How about rocketry or drones. This country needs innovation in both these areas for defence purposes.
Just look what Ukraine is doing in response to the invading Ruskies.
I don’t think this country is ready for WW2 yet.

“Welcome to the RAeS International Light Aircraft Design Competition 2023-24!
This is the seventh in a series of RAeS design competitions aimed at promoting innovation in the general aviation aircraft sector. This year's competition is supported by the Light Aircraft Association (LAA) and the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA), both of which supervise the building and operation of most of the light aircraft in the UK.

For this year's competition can you design an aerial firefighting aircraft that is capable of being used as a water bomber and, following a change of role equipment, be used for aerial delivery (air drop) or fire-fighting personnel and supplies?

I know that the timescale for the competition itself doesn’t suit however an idea for a subject.

Australian aero engineering student groups have done well in such competitions in the past.
