Nah, word on the internet street is that this is an attack helicopter version of the Z-20, which is definitely not a copy of the blackhawk.... New one seems to be the same manufacturer, similar rotor and tail boom, but with a different (tandem fwd fuselage).

Seems as if I'm a bit late to the party posting the most recent and so bar clearest images of the new Z-21 (?) heavy attack helicopter ... but even I have to sleep at some point 😉

1. the first side view of that beast!

2. and second two slightly clearer images of previously seen ones.

Meanwhile, the US Army has just cancelled FARA and are going to look instead at unmanned options to deliver this capability (lessons reportedly being learned from Ukraine regarding the survivability of helos over the battlefield).

If it's anything like the Chinese products I've ordered online in the past, it looks full size in the photographs, but turns up sized for Action Man and breaks on first use. I don't think we need to worry just yet.

FARA wasn't for a heavy attack helicopter, so not the same capability.

Indeed however the view expressed about the survivability of helos is relevant. Even heavy attack rotorcraft are vulnerable nowadays. Russia and Ukraine have both lost many over the past 13 months

Everything is vulnerable nowadays - tanks, ships, drones, aircraft, helicopters, even (especially!) soldiers. They're not all suddenly obsolete overnight though, and militaries (ours included) continue to invest heavily in attack helicopters which have a very different mission set to the scout role intended for FARA.

But it will be dirt cheap and you can have as many as you want by yesterday.

As the U.S. Marines are ditching their tanks for more mobile firepower, it won’t have anything to shoot at if it can even reach the battle.
