Some input please. PPL started recently with major European school with view to modular ATPL. There's NO input from tutors for the PPL theory course. I have access to digital books only. No question bank or other ways to check learning. First is this normal? Second, since I'm stuck with it, could those more experienced suggest ways to fill any perceived gaps in this model?

I have looked online for quizzes and access to exam past papers. Not sure what's the best sources for these things. Back to the digital books I go. Thanks for any input offered.

If you put the work in to the books and find some PPL exam question banks and apps then you don't really need an actual instructor. Of course, if you don't understand something then ask your assigned flying instructor but proper teacher led classes aren't really a thing until the ATPL exam phase. Note, the do actually require some decent study, they can't just be passed without effort.

Pooleys do exam question books I believe.

A simple internet search for ppl exam questions reveals quite a few options.

I don't hold a PPL but I know ACS offer this ground school course in case you're interested.

I have a copy somewhere of "The Private Pilot Confuser" which might help. It is a fairly comprehensive question bank. Unfortunately mine is packed away and I cannot get to it right now; but it is still available in book form and looks as if they have a digital version now as well.

Good luck :ok:

The confuser sometimes does just that - there are a lot of wrong answers in it, and it is well out of date.

Try this book: EASA Private Pilot Studies (http://www.electrocution.com/#JARPPL)
