Hello
Can anyone please identify the object in this photo? At Heathrow yesterday. Thanks.

Aha! I've seen this a few times in the last few years and always take a photo of it to 'look at later', and then completely forget about it until the next time.! It's parked slightly east of T4 if I remember, though strangely looks bigger from a distance. I had wondered if it were wrapped freight, perhaps a small aircraft minus wings or a glider waiting to be shipped off to the Middle East by one of the airlines. Often cars are wrapped in that white coloured plastic when being shipped and it looks like that due to the light reflecting on the different angled surfaces. Either that, or something pinched from DARPA or similar and 'Lost in Transit' ;-)

Thanks for those two replies, Now I see that it's something to do with DNATA, who are ground handling agents, the push back training dummy a/c seems a good theory. Anyone know for sure?

I recall the wingless Dan-Air Comet at Gatwick used for ground handling training but there also used to be a Comet at Heathrow, parked down near the fire training Argonaut in the mid-'70s. Had that been used for similar purposes?

I got my jetway driving licence practicing on the wingless Comet at Gatwick in 1986. It was also used for pushback training for the tug drivers.
