I have noticed that all my email notification are coming from "PPRuNe Forums <[email protected]>" and looking at my email box I have receive the first email from this address on the 27/05/2022.

Those email are coming mainly from my subscribed threads.

With all malicious behaviours out there internet I was wondering if PPRuNe has been attacked/breached or if this is intended at all?

It looks definitely weird, I would expect email notification from PPRuNe to come from domain @pprune.org (it was coming from [email protected] up to 13/05/2022)

Can anyone clarify this?

[email protected] is the Webmaster’s email address, hence the use in notifications 👍

Thanks for confirming. It is a bit odd though...

Internet Brands owns the site. They make money by selling all those lovely ads (and probably your details). The Mods are unpaid volunteers who work from their offices. The central control over the website is embedded in Internet Brands with one or two of their people looking after PPrune as well as a load of other websites.

https://www.internetbrands.com/about-us/

MH Sub I, LLC, doing business as Internet Brands, is a digital media, marketing services, and software (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_media) company based in El Segundo, California (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Segundo,_California), United States, that operates online media (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_media), community (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_community), e-commerce (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-commerce), and SaaS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SaaS) businesses in vertical markets (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_markets).

They're massive. Generally the service seems good but occasionally they impose something new (and disliked by PPruners) across all their platforms (eg the "Trending" page a year or so back)

Yep! We oversee over a dozen sites in Travel & Leisure alone. A single email address helps us keep everything organized and another community manager can easily jump in if someone has to take off for whatever reason

Jeez - I thought people only looked at PPrune when they're being paid by their employer - at home they have better things to do......................

Yes, but mods and admins HAVE to look at what's going on, wherever we may be!
